1985-1992 Camaro Vented Turn Signals (Switchback) SEE DESCRIPTION

I originally designed these turn signals for my own 1992 Camaro RS. I wanted to update the front of the car with something that had the look of a modern DRL, but at the time there really wasn't anything available that looked the way I wanted.

The problem with replacing the huge factory turn signal with a thin LED strip is that you're left with a pretty large opening in the bumper. Instead of just filling that space with plastic, I decided to make it functional. I designed the lower half of the housing as an air inlet and added a 3-inch outlet on the back that can be used to feed an intake, oil cooler, or brake duct.

The end result was our Vented Switchback Turn Signals, and ultimately the product that started Starbuck Innovative Designs.

The housings bolt directly into the factory bumper using the original mounting locations, so there's no cutting or permanent modification to the car. The lighting is also completely plug-and-play with the factory wiring.

The LED operates as a solid white daytime running light and switches to amber whenever the turn signal or hazards are activated. That's what we mean by "switchback."

Lens Options

There are two options for the upper section of the light where the LED strip is located:

Standard – The inside of the housing is painted metallic silver with the LED strip exposed. This gives you the brightest output and makes the LED itself more visible.

Smoked Out – The LED is covered with a tinted silicone tube that helps hide the strip when the lights are off. This gives the front of the car more of a blackout appearance, with a slight reduction in light output.

Mesh Options

The lower air inlet is available with either black or silver mesh.

Black tends to disappear into the opening and puts more emphasis on the LED strip for a more modern look.

Silver makes the vent more visible and gives the housing an appearance that's a little closer to the original silver Camaro turn signals.

Using the Air Duct

There is a 3-inch outlet on the back of each housing that can be connected to standard ducting. You can use this for brake cooling, an intake, an oil cooler, or really anything else where you want to bring fresh air through the front bumper.

Driver and passenger vented LED turn signal assemblies
Plug-and-play wiring harnesses
(2) LED side marker bulbs
(2) LED-compatible flasher relays

Everything needed for the lighting conversion is included. Unbolt the original turn signals, install these in their place, plug them into the factory connectors, and you're ready to go.
